How It Works
Bring your marriage license
Before your ceremony, you’ll need to obtain a South Carolina marriage license from your county probate court. The state requires a 24-hour waiting period after the license is issued, so please plan ahead. Be sure to bring your license with you on the day of your ceremony. Afterward, you will be responsible for returning the signed license to the probate court so your marriage can be officially recorded.
